About Local Host  

Shanghai, located in the eastern region of China, on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean and the eastern edge of the Asian continent. It is part of the Yangtze River Delta alluvial plain. Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), located in Shanghai, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and jointly built and centrally managed in Shanghai. It is one of the oldest higher education institutions in China. The school was founded in 1896 and was originally named Nanyang Public School. It was renamed Nanyang University in 1911, National Chiao Tung University in 1929, and Chiao Tung University in 1949; In 1957, after undergoing westward migration and separation, it was divided into the Shanghai and Xi'an parts of Jiaotong University; In 1959, Shanghai Jiao Tong University partially adopted the name "Shanghai Jiao Tong University"; In 1999, the former Shanghai Agricultural College was merged; In 2005, it merged with the former Shanghai Second Medical University.
